PVC electrical flame retardant tape
It has three functions: insulation, flame-retardant, and waterproof, but because it is made of pvc material, it has poor ductility and cannot wrap the joints tightly. The waterproofness is not ideal, but it has been widely used now.
High-pressure self-adhesive tape
It is generally used for higher voltage levels. Because of its good ductility, it is worse than the second type in waterproofing. Therefore, people also apply it in the field of low voltage, but because its strength is not as good as PVC electrical flame retardant tape , Usually these two are used together.
To distinguish the quality of electrical tape, first look at whether there are defects, whether the tape is rewinding, whether there are burrs in the slit, and whether it is smooth or not. Look at the tape material (there are many types of electrical insulation tape, so I won’t introduce the quality of the material one by one. In most cases, it depends on the usage). Looking at the glue again, most of the glue now has evolved to environmental protection. The taste is very important. If it is pungent, it is more likely to be defective (not referring to all tapes). Is the tape anti-adhesive when it is pulled down and used? After use, is there any residual glue after tearing it off? If the residual glue is on the product, this is the fatal point of the defective tape.
Note: The PVC materials are basically the same. The main thing is to look at the glue. After the poor quality tape is wrapped for a while, you can see that the glue and the PVC material are separated. It looks sticky and uncomfortable, but the quality is good. The tape will not have this problem.
